Just a brief post about the new pesticide ban for 2012. The largest impact for us is the ban on 2-4D which is used in our very popular Lawn Weed-Out by Wilson. We have a large inventory of the attach and spray left. Get it now before the ban takes place in 2012. Call us for more details 709-896-9292. My Mom and Dad were in town. So with the extra hands, we decided to have a charity BBQ for the local SPCA! Mom & Dad made the burgers, we used the BBQ off of our deck and set up in the shop parking lot. Thank you so very much to everyone who came out, ate our food, said it was good then gave some of their hard earned money in support of our local SPCA. This particular weekend we handed Lee & Bonnie over $1100. I love this community. This spring, the local Beavers Troop spent an hour with us to earn their Nature Badge. They toured Chickadee Greenhouse while asking alot of impressive questions. These young boys wanted to know about the heating and watering systems and they were especially interested in the clear roofing. They then potted themselves up Spider Plant cuttings to take home to grow for themselves. I still haven't heard if anyone's plant is still alive. Hopefully someone will let me know what happened to their plant after they took it home. We've Won! Winterlights Christmas contest 2010, The Best Decorated Business, $100 will be donated to any charity of our choice. We have chosen the local SPCA spay and neuter program. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. |
